Subject: New and updated web-interfaces to access EMBOSS and GCG

We have made significant changes to the web-interfaces of software that are available on bioportal. EMBOSS is now available to public via EMBOSS explorer, while GCG is available to the CGB Research account holders via W2H.

EMBOSS Explorer: EMBOSS suite of over a 100 bioinformatics tools will be available through the EMBOSS Explorer instead of the separate PISE web-pages. It provides access to all the emboss tools, is easy to maintain and has a user-friendly interface

W2H: GCG (Genetics Computer Group) programs will be available through the W2H interface instead of seqweb. W2H interface is user-friendly and efficient for GCG programs. To be able to use W2H you must enable JavaScript in your browser. W2H tries to store user-settings like the working directory in non-persistant cookies.
