Software Tools :: Sequence Creation and Manipulation
The programs in this section are used to manipulate the sequence
data in a sequence file. Among the functions available are:
- Creating sequences de novo
- Concatenating existing sequences into a single new sequence
- Removing or masking undesired sections of existing sequences
- Extracting sections of existing sequences to form new sequences
- Reversing and/or complementing an existing nucleic acid sequence
- Altering bases/amino acids in existing sequences; introducing gaps and insertions
Some of these programs are used to preprocess a sequence prior to
performing an analysis on it; some can be used in place of an
interactive editor; some are useful when performing simulations.
