Developing Bioinformatics Computer Skills
By Cynthia Gibas and Per Jambeck
O'Reilly, 2001
ISBN:1565926641
Summary:
Perhaps the current single best book for the beginning bioinformatician: sequence analysis, structure analysis, functional genomics, entry-level UNIX and Perl programming, databases, and data analysis presented in a practical manner, where the reader is expected to have some or develop both biology and computing knowledge. Another positive is the attractive price ($25), making it almost a must-have for any bookshelf needing some bioinformatics.
